By all accounts 2013 was another tremendous year for Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty (RSIR) and within our expanding global network. Locally our firm grew from 50 brokers a year ago to 80 today and from two offices (downtown Seattle and Bainbridge Island) to three today, including our new Eastside flagship branch under construction in downtown Kirkland. Globally the Brand expanded from 12,691 associates in 614 branch offices worldwide to more than 13,900 associates in 672 offices today.
Our sales in 2013 exceeded $325 million not only earning the company a place within the top ten aggregated brokerage brands in Western Washington (after just three years) but we continue to be among the most productive brokerages on a per-agent basis. The firm also features both the highest average selling prices and active inventory listed among this notable list of top producing real estate brands.
We are especially proud of being leaders in the primary markets in which our branch offices originated and continue to serve. RSIR closed 2013 the top-selling branch office in downtown Seattle as host to 6 of the top 10 most productive brokers (and 2 of the top 10 for Seattle Metro). Likewise on Bainbridge Island RSIR is home to the most productive broker on the island for gross sales in all counties and 2 of the top 10 selling brokers for all of Kitsap County.
As for sales records in 2013, RSIR holds both the top listing sold in Seattle at $6.5 million and the highest price per square foot achieved in 2013 at $1,618 for a luxury condominium in downtown Seattle.
Among our acknowledgements the Puget Sound Business Journal honored RSIR as the 7th “Largest Residential Real Estate Firm” in 2012 (reported in February 2013) and the 24th “Fastest Growing Private Companies” in Washington State in 2012 (reported in October 2013). Meanwhile we’re thrilled to have participated in dozens of high profile editorial news clips in 2013 including 5 articles in The Wall Street Journal, 4 in The Seattle Times, 4 on SeattlePI.com, 11 in The Puget Sound Business Journal, 9 in Daily Journal of Commerce, 1 in The New York Times and prime time news interviews with King 5, KIRO 7 and KOMO 4 to boot. RSIR also was the invited guest columnist for the 2013-2014 Greater Seattle InfoGuide writing about the lifestyle in downtown Seattle. We made our own news too with 104 blog posts throughout the year. With so much to say and such beautiful listings, no wonder our website experienced a 250% increase in visitation and a 304% increase in page views compared with 2012.
While our marketing platform excels at selling luxury homes, we specialize in all property types and price points. In 2013 approximately 40% of our sales were at price points below $500,000 with another 30% priced between $500,000 and $1 million – typically about a third of our sales are above $1 million. So whether our client’s desired price point is $150,000 or $15 million – be it around the corner or around the globe – we’re optimized for success across the spectrum.
We had a lot of fun in 2013 hosting numerous events and promotions that included progress open houses, fashion shows, holiday parties and four signature art sweeps with Sotheby’s Auction House for collectible time pieces, print art, Russian art and Israeli and Judaic Art.
Of course the most significant statistic is the number of brokerages in the Pacific Northwest that is truly similar to Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty… that answer is zero.
