S&P/Case-Shiller’s Home Price Index for October 2017 showed the Seattle Metropolitan Area as remaining 12.7 percent higher than twelve months ago, and continuing to lead all Pacific Coast gateway cities as well as cities across the nation. However, this was the second straight month in which the Seattle index declined on a monthly basis, although by a shallower percentage (-0.07%) than the -0.28% seen in September. October’s decline appears to confirm the end of the historic 31-month streak of continuous price growth in the Puget Sound region, even while it retains its nationwide lead for a 14th consecutive month.

This year, Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty (RSIR) is thrilled to share that our Owner and Vice President, Stacy Jones, is a co-chair of the event along with Stacy Lill, Founder and CEO of Cashmere Consulting. Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty (RSIR) brokers Tracy Vaughn and Mark Middleton recently worked together to help a client sell their Redmond home while securing a new residence on Bainbridge Island, in order to facilitate a smooth transition process out of the hustle and bustle of the Eastside into the Island life. Leveraging the power of teamwork backed by the Sotheby’s brand, Vaughn, who is based out of Seattle, and Middleton, a Bainbridge Island and Peninsula expert, commanded results despite the competitive Puget Sound housing market.
It’s no surprise that the Pacific Northwest’s Silicon Forest is growing, as tech giants are expanding their current offices or opening new branches in downtown Seattle and along the Eastside’s tech corridor to leverage talent on both sides of the lake. Last year, Microsoft renewed leases in Redmond and Bellevue, while Google opened a Kirkland campus expansion that made it the company’s third-largest engineering center in the country. And earlier this month, Amazon opened its first Eastside office at Centre 425 in Bellevue to help employees combat commute times between downtown Seattle and the Eastside’s communities.
