West coast, best coast! It’s an oft-repeated mantra in the battle between America’s largest coastal cities, like San Francisco and New York. But real estate agent Michele Schuler would likely argue that, of all the amazing west coast cities you could call home, Seattle is the ultimate.

And no one knows Seattle like Michele Schuler.

Schuler grew up in the greater Seattle area and has called this town home her whole life. The Emerald State native is now a founding member of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty’s new Bellevue office, and prides herself on knowing the local market better than just about anyone else.

In her recent interview with Gateway Magazine, Schuler said about the city, “It feels like a big city and a small town at the same time. Given that I have lived in greater Seattle my entire life, I do consider myself a Seattle expert.”

And she’s an expert in more than just the booming Seattle market. Schuler specializes in helping clients who are relocating from other cities, and especially from the Bay Area, which is happening more and more frequently now thanks to major tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google who have headquarters or outposts in Seattle. She works closely with some of the city’s biggest employers, assisting people who are considering making moves—both physically and professionally—by educating them about the local housing market, as well as everything else that Seattle has to offer.

That extensive experience with clients who are relocating—rather than moving to a new home in the same metropolitan area—means that Schuler is intimately acquainted with how stressful a major move can be, knowledgeable about “Silicon Valley and Seattle’s symbiotic relationship,” and recognizes how many details must be considered when buyers look to choose a new home in an unfamiliar city. Many people are self-proclaimed experts, but Schuler is clearly very good at what she does—the numbers speak for themselves. In her Gateway Magazine feature, she revealed that in 2018 she hit a major professional milestone, having closed $60 million in sales volume.

Schuler is spotlighted because she is more than a great agent—she’s an invaluable resource who can share the kind of inside information about Seattle—what it’s like to commute, the advantages and disadvantages of different neighborhoods, school districts, and everything else someone new to the city needs to know to make an informed decision about where to live.
