Dwell on Design; America’s Largest Design Event
Hopper Group recently attended the largest design show in the US, Dwell Magazines “Dwell on Design”show at the Los Angeles convention center. The latest design trends in home finishing’s and modern fixtures were on display at the event.
“I came down to the show hoping to see, touch and experience all the latest trends in home finishes, and was not disappointed,” said Nicole Hopper, Interior Stylist for Hopper Group. The “Brizo Faucets booth really was pleasing and pretty, drawing me in.”

The event was a full three days of exhibition and conferences at the Los Angeles Convention Center, hosting world-class key note speakers, demo’s, education classes for design pro’s, and seminars for design-seeking attendees. The show boasted over 300+ exhibiting brands, 2,000+ modern furnishings and products, and 40+ onstage presentations!

“I was particularly impressed with the Wet Style booth,” stated Brian Hopper Team Lead of Hopper Group. “The team from Wet Style executed their booth perfectly, from the lighting of the booth, to the way they displayed their product.”

Wallpaper Direct was on hand at the show showing off the latest creative wall paper designs, as well as offering samples of the trendy wall paper. “The team at Wallpaper Direct was very friendly and knowledgeable about wall paper and the products they carry,” said Nicole Hopper. “Plus the free samples were nice!”
Above all, Hopper Group was most impressed with the painting demonstration by renowned artist and friend to Dwell Magazine, Donald Robertson (at the Signature Kitchen Suite booth). “Something about the creativity combination of the painting and the creativeness that goes into home finishings really was compelling,” said Brian Hopper.

All in all, Hopper Group was excited to view the newest trends in home finishings from faucets to wall paper, from bathtubs to lighting. But most of it did not come as a surprise: “We see quite a bit of new construction, touring homes in the Seattle area often, and we were proud to say our Seattle area builders are really on top of the latest, happening trends. Most of what we saw at the show, we have seen in local home construction,” Brian Hopper said.
For instance, Hopper mentioned the faucets from modern faucet manufacture and designer Brizo were seen on the 2016 St. Jude Research home in Bellevue, WA by builder John Buchan Homes. “We first saw the Brizo Artusso faucet last year (on the John Buchan built home for St. Jude) and it really stood out as a statement piece in the kitchen,” stated Hopper.
Attending shows like this is just another way the Hopper Group keeps up on building and design trends, keeping on the cutting edge of what is happening in this fast changing world of modern design.
