National REALTOR® Day | Eddie Chang Elected To WA REALTORS® Board

By RSIR Staff |

Happy National Realtor® Day!

Established on May 12, 1908, under the name “National Association of Real Estate Exchanges”, the National Association of Realtors was founded. And while it’s a common misconception that all real estate agents are Realtors, that’s not the case. A Realtor is a member of “a federally registered collective membership mark which identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.”

And while not all brokers have this designation, many benefit from the work the association has done. In recent years in our state, the Washington Realtors (WA Realtors) worked with legislators to define real estate as an essential service during the early months of the pandemic, worked to exempt real estate from capital gains, and have put in efforts to create more developments that will lead to more opportunities for first-time homebuyers.

On its anniversary 114 years later, we’re celebrating National Realtor Day by recognizing one of our own, recently named to the WA Realtors board. Eddie Chang was elected 2023 VP Elect of Government Affairs. Congratulations, Eddie!

Eddie has held the same title on the Seattle King County Realtors (SKCR) board and was also recognized as the “Realtor of the Year” by SKCR in 2021.

Previously having served as a part of the legislative steering committee for WA Realtors, Eddie’s passion for the industry is often felt by his colleagues and clients.

Thank you, Eddie, for giving back to the industry through your leadership!

Eddie was also recently featured on The Sparkling Entrepreneur podcast. Check out the full episode, below.
