Blakeney Wisner, a broker with the Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty (RSIR) flagship branch office in downtown Seattle, has been appointed Vice Chair of the Seattle King County REALTORS® Young Professionals Network (YPN). The organization is committed to helping real estate professionals build a solid business foundation through their affiliation with the National REALTORS® Association, the opportunity to take an active role through education and policy discussion, networking and strong community involvement.

Having previously served as an appointed member of the board, Wisner is excited to step into this new leadership role to work closely with the YPN board and organization members as they continue to engage with the real estate community both locally in Seattle and on a national level. All YPN members are required to be part of the National Association of REALTORS®, which adheres to a strict code of ethics.

“What drew me to YPN back in 2016 was their commitment to creating awareness in young people and bringing good energy to the industry and community at large,” said Wisner. “It’s important for professionals to have a resource for building a network and growing their brand, especially in the early stages—I look forward to making more of a difference with this new position.”

Wisner jumped right into her work with YPN, attending an immersive, two-day Leadership Retreat & Summit in Chicago where she had the opportunity to meet other members, connect with chapters from around the nation and share ideas.

“We are excited to bring Blakeney’s leadership, fresh perspective and background to our board,” said Kale Corey, Chairperson of YPN. “Though her official term begins in 2019, we’re grateful she jumped right in to start helping us out with upcoming events.”

YPN is deeply committed to the local community and hosts a number of annual events that support their own and other organizations. Events, such as the Royal Blue Bash and panels (including a forthcoming collective of brokers convening at The Edge), have supported Friends of the Children, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Northwest Harvest, Habitat for Humanity, Attain Housing and Burned Children Recovery Foundation, among others. The group is currently supporting the Seattle-based MORELove Project, through direct work and other fundraising efforts.

Wisner looks forward to continuing her work with YPN in the coming year and will attend the 2018 REALTOR® Conference and Expo in Boston later this fall where she will continue to forge connections with members of YPN and the National Association of REALTORS®, further strengthening her network around the nation.
