Question… what goes 550 miles per hour, inspires millions of people and is read all over? Well for the month of September that’s RSIR’s feature advertisement in the current edition of SKY Magazine published by Delta Airlines. This publication not only flies around the world reaching more than 5.4 million readers each month but it currently boasts a 19-page feature on Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.
Many might not realize that Seattle (and specifically SeaTac International Airport) was selected by Delta Airlines as the West Coast International Gateway to Asia and European destinations. The new routes to Asia and most notably into China (with direct flights to Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai) follow a dramatic rise in air traffic demand as the Pacific Northwest finds favor with tourists, students and business travelers alike. In fact, recently the Puget Sound Business Journal reported that Chinese visitors to the Emerald City could top 100,000 this year and increasingly, more and more are seeking to stay.
“Our firm has been actively targeting the rise in international demand for homes in the area,” says Dean Jones, President and CEO of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty. “It’s quite literally our middle name so we feel a responsibility to our brokers and our clients to help identify opportunities up river rather than just locally. This journey has led us to explore international marketing platfo
The promotion in Sky Magazine was supported in part by both private and public interest groups and RSIR was proud to be the exclusive real estate supporter of the initiative. RSIR is the first company to republish the special feature with special permission.
“The greater Seattle region has been presented with an outstanding opportunity to showcase the area’s thriving businesses, entertainment, education, recreation and culture in a special feature section in the September 2014 issue of Delta Sky magazine,” says Tom Norwalk, President & CEO of Visit Seattle. “This is an enormous marketing opportunity for our region and its business community.”
September will prove to be a very busy month for the Seattle area, especially for high-profile delegations arriving from Asia. The BOAO Forum will host its first conference overseas in Seattle on September 4-6 and later in the month, the much-anticipated Nan Hai Biz Tech Summit will occur in Bellevue on September 27th. Both events are expected to draw hundreds of international guests to the region.
“International events taking place here at home are a reminder that we’ve arrived on a global stage,” adds Jones. “We’re doing our part to represent the real estate opportunities to an expanded audience. I believe we are just becoming discovered.”
