Sagecliffe Resort & Spa And RSIR Announce Reservations For Olson Kundig Designed Casitas And Vineyard Homes In Quincy, WA

By RSIR Staff |

Executives from Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty (RSIR) and Gorge Capital LLC (owner of Sagecliffe Resort and Spa), today confirmed that more than 20 reservations (including some backup positions) have been accepted on a limited collection of 15 existing casitas and 25 new construction vineyard homes designed by the acclaimed architecture firm Olson Kundig. The Sagecliffe master plan is immediately adjacent to The Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, WA, only two and a half hours from Seattle and Spokane. These first-of-their-kind Sagecliffe Residences were initially offered for unit-specific reservations during a series of Design Preview Events on August 20, 21, and 22 at the RSIR branch offices of Bellevue, Kirkland, and Bainbridge Island, respectively. RSIR listing brokers Marianne Francis and Kelly Mann describe both the offering and market response as being “unprecedented.” An encore event for existing and prospective homebuyers is being hosted on location on October 5th, 2024, amidst the Luke Combs concert series scheduled for that weekend.

“The consumer intrigue with our master plan vision is extraordinary, and we’re delighted to welcome our first homeowners within the Sagecliffe Resort & Spa community very soon,” said Vince Coluccio, President & CEO. “With our cliffside pool, award-winning spa and the resort being featured in 2024 National Geographic Traveller, we believe these homes offer extraordinary value.  In addition, we’ve always had the goal for Sagecliffe Resort & Spa to set the standard for eco-friendliness and on September 12th, 2024, we received a $2.5M solar grant from Washington State Department of Commerce, making us one more step closer to full energy independence.”

During the Design Preview Events, Coluccio hinted at impending announcements to reduce the carbon footprint at the resort, while also reducing operating costs. Accordingly, Washington State Department of Commerce since announced investment of $37M in 46 clean energy projects with one of its largest of $2.5M going to Sagecliffe Resort & Spa. Coluccio is also working on a matching grant with the USDA, which together would fund a 1 MW build that would lead to 100% energy independence for the resort. The strategy has proposed a dual use for the project whereby they will use the solar panels as a windbreak for raising commercial beehives.

Raising bees will curate an apiary to produce and retail honey which will be in addition to other resort products already being offered. Those include their new award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon produced by Sagecliffe Cellars, whose first vintage has won two gold awards in California and Washington and Huney Jun Kombucha, locally sourced from Peshastin, WA. These distinct libations all complement the acclaimed culinary experience at Tendrils Restaurant, a recent Diners’ Choice award winner.

Since acquiring the resort in 2020, Coluccio and his partner Rachel Moorhouse have added multiple attractions beyond their existing Cliff Edge Pool, including 160 acres of waterfront land connecting miles of hiking and biking trails, five pickleball courts, two tennis courts, Sagecliffe Winery, Fox & Quail Whiskey Bar, outdoor fire pits and multiple event venues. They further expressed immediate plans to expand with distinctive outdoor, cascading hot tubs and with future plans to build the Cliff Club, an expansive fine dining and exhibition venue overlooking the Columbia River and The Gorge Amphitheatre. When complete, the Olson Kundig designed, dynamic building will be a one-of-a-kind location to host corporate events, wedding receptions, and other personalized experiences for guests adding vitality to the resort and nightly demand for the residences.

All structures within the Resort have been exclusively designed by Seattle-based Olson Kundig, an architectural firm synonymous with merging interior and exterior living spaces and curating some of the finest homes and buildings in harmony within the natural setting.

“Sagecliffe Resort and Residences is a proud product of our design professionals and reflects the passion of the collective team in one of the most extraordinary environments in the Pacific Northwest,” said Tom Kundig, Principal/Owner, and Founder of Olson Kundig.

Today, the Sagecliffe Residences is offering 40 homes for sale, which is composed of an existing 15 concrete and stone, Olson Kundig designed casitas featuring one-, two- and three-bed configurations, ranging in size from 700 to 1,050 square feet and offer private terraces with unparalleled views of the Columbia River. An additional 25 new single-family buildings of 915 square feet, also designed by Olson Kundig, will soon be bordering a Merlot vineyard on 4,041- to 8,072-square-foot lots with commanding views. Reservations have been offered in price ranges from below $720K to more than $1.3M.

“Being part of the resort, the residences are a once-in-a-lifetime lifestyle investment that you can enjoy and earn income from with turnkey property management,” said Marianne Francis, a Senior Global Real Estate Advisor with RSIR, and an advisor to Gorge Capital LLC to position the project. “Not only does the product offer an unprecedented experience for the mind, body and soul, but will prove to be an heirloom for savvy homeowners.”

One of the first to seize a unit reservation was Christina Roberts, a fellow real estate broker with RSIR. The Roberts family currently owns a vacation home in the area and is adding to their portfolio.

“I’ve enjoyed this region for years, and it’s proven to be a strong investment for capital appreciation, rental income and not to be underplayed – ample fun in the sun,” said Roberts. “It is hard to put a value on the personal connections we have enjoyed with family and friends. It is our favorite escape from the Westside – so close but far from the ordinary. I was born and raised in Eastern Washington, so it’s close to my heart. I have a deep history with this area. My family is eager to enjoy our new home at Sagecliffe Residences and all the new relationships we will make with our neighbors and guests.”

Roberts says those new to the area will be surprised to learn about all the activities and attractions. Beyond the expanding and sold-out concert series and active watersports on the Columbia River, there is fishing, hiking, mountain biking, world-class climbing, offroad vehicle destinations, and of course, more personal retreats too. Whether that’s spa treatments at the Spa at Sagecliffe, a yoga session on the cliff edge, or just quiet reflection overlooking one of the most exceptional vistas in North America, the region is host to countless opportunities in all seasons.

To be sure, demand for accommodations in the Quincy area has been meteoric. According to Airbnb, this was the number one trending destination for summer 2024 searches on the popular hospitality platform, which beat out much larger destinations such as Las Vegas and beaches in Florida.

“We are obviously humbled to be receiving so much attention globally, and we’re thrilled to share this investment gravitas with our fellow homeowners within the resort”, responds Coluccio. “Next week we’ll bring it all home for our current and prospective buyers and influencers to fully experience the sights, the sounds and all the sip and savor that is to be enjoyed at the resort.”

The Sagecliffe Resort and Spa Experience is an exclusive event being hosted on location on Saturday, October 5th from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. and will include property tours, a VIP food and wine pairing experience, and preferred access to attend the Luke Combs concert for existing and newly reserved homebuyers.
