On November 14, 2024, RSIR President and CEO Dean Jones of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty and Adrian Lopez of Jocovine Bistro & Events as well as Danielle Armour, Director of Development of New Story Homes, hosted a fundraiser to commence the season of giving in a festive gathering of industry leaders and friends at Jocovine Bistro in Bellevue.
New Story Homes’ mission is to make homeownership accessible to families, by empowering those in need and equipping them with the necessary tools to participate in their journey towards owning homes or acquiring land. The New Story Homes organization is more than just a charity–it aims to get to the root of the problem and create sustainable solutions to the issue, which is that 1.8 billion people in the world live without adequate housing. Although their work began with gifting families with homes, it has since evolved to create a sustainable model that addresses the causes of homelessness rather than the symptoms and multiplies the impact of their efforts x 10.
Sotheby’s International Realty (SIR) is New Story Homes’ longest and largest real estate partner, helping more than 1,000 people secure safe housing since 2016. The presentation started with a message from Sotheby’s International Realty’s President and CEO Phillip White, who touched on the global network’s support of the commendable charity.
It was an afternoon of community gathering to share in one remarkable goal, and the crowd included several RSIR brokers, staff, and executives. Attendees enjoyed a Mexican buffet with wine pairings and champagne to toast to the start of a very special goal as well as the 10-year anniversary of New Story Homes. Together our efforts can change lives through land ownership and making the home buying process accessible to those in need. If you would like to donate directly, you can do so here.
Jolene Messmer, Carese Busby, and Rick King of Movement Mortgage, RSIR’s mortgage lending partners, also announced an exciting opportunity: If you buy an RSIR-represented property and borrow with Movement Mortgage, your purchase will benefit New Story Homes’ mission.
