Sotheby’s International Realty recently released Significant Sales Vol. 3 Issue IV, which showcases the top sales from around the global network’s 1,000 affiliated offices. The list included an Australian estate, a private Caribbean island, a New York City condominium high-rise, and the record-breaking $12M “Sanctuary in the Sky” Seattle penthouse represented by Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty Founding Directors Moira Holley and Scott Wasner earlier this year.
Holley and Wasner represented the seller of the condominium, which closed in March 2019. In 2005, Holley represented the current seller during the purchase of the home, which features bespoke interiors and over 1,500 square feet of outdoor space. At the time, the $5.6 million sale was the largest of its kind in Downtown Seattle. In 2019, the sale broke records in the Emerald City at $2,105 per square foot.
The home was a result of a collaboration between architect Rick Sundberg (Olson Sundberg Kundig and Allen) and interior designer Gregory Carmichael. Sanctuary in the Sky was the only sale from the Pacific Northwest to be featured on the list. Its iconic vistas of the water and Space Needle and in-city location, certainly make it representative of Seattle and what residents would imagine from an ideally situated, luxury penthouse.
