Curbed Seattle Takes A Tour Of Magnolia Quiet Luxury

By RSIR Staff |

Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty brokers Mary and Paige Norris were in the spotlight recently, as Magnolia Quiet Luxury, a retreat in Seattle epitomizing taste, style and quiet luxury, was featured in a Curbed Seattle article that highlighted a selection of amazing mid-century modern homes for sale in Seattle right now.

As Sarah Anne Lloyd of Curbed describes in the article, mid-century modern design never goes out of style. It looks “especially gorgeous in the Northwest,” Lloyd writes, “where airy-but-minimalist designs that emphasize natural materials can give way to stunning water views and cozy woodland settings.” While the mid-century modern aesthetic may be found throughout the United States, it gained popularity in the Puget Sound in the 1950s and 1960s as the aerospace industry took flight, which gave way to a number of spectacular designs in our area, Magnolia Quiet Luxury among them.

The 1955 design of Magnolia Quiet Luxury provides indoor-outdoor entertaining terraces that frame jaw-dropping views of the Sound.

According to Lloyd, what drew her to the home was that “every room—except the bathrooms—in this five-bedroom Magnolia home opens up to a terrace or patio, including a living room with a massive wall-of-brick fireplace that extends down a floor into a family room.” It is quite difficult to find a residence with terrace access from every bedrooms and a full suite of walkout amenities including an outdoor kitchen and fire pit, swim spa, mature gardens and lawn, and a craft studio.

The home was also renovated extensively with infrastructure and system updates that have prepared it to seamlessly accommodate today’s modern lifestyle.
