Considered one of the best suburbs of Washington State by Niche, the Town of Yarrow Point is bordered on three sides by the eastern shoreline of Lake Washington. This 231-acre peninsula comprises just over 400 homes, with an estimated population of 1,134 residents. The scenic look and feel of the residential community, as well as its proximity to the business centers of both Seattle and the Eastside, makes it a highly desirable location.
The town was first homesteaded in the late 1880s and incorporated in June 1959 to preserve its unique characteristics in the face of significant growth and construction elsewhere in the Puget Sound area. Today, approximately a quarter of Yarrow Point homes have waterfront locations or water access, while the remaining residences offer wide-ranging views.
Residents have the Wetherill Nature Preserve in their backyard, tucked between Yarrow Point and Hunts Point to the west. It’s easy to access it via the Points Loop Trail, which leads to a network of trails to waterfront vistas over Cozy Cove and through thick stands of trees that are home to a variety of birdlife from kingfishers to song sparrows.
With its highly rated public schools, rural feel, stability (most residents own their homes and many are retirees), and wide choice of restaurants, shops, and parks, Yarrow Point remains one of the most coveted places to live in the greater Seattle area.
