For those who love nothing better than spending some time out on the links, Chambers Bay Golf Course is one of the area’s most praised courses. Garnering national attention when it hosted the U.S. Open in 2015, the British links-style course is owned by Pierce County and open to the public. At 250 acres, it’s the centerpiece of Chambers Bay Park. For Pierce County residents, a discounted rate to play is offered. But get ready to carry your bag (or hire a caddy), as this is a course is for walkers only, with only a few exceptions.
