On the evening of June 7th, Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty welcomed Carol Elkins, Senior Vice President of Sotheby’s Jewelry, to Park House for a glittering presentation on magnificent jewels covering bidding at auction, global jewelry trends, and current market values. It was an amazing night for cocktails, friends, fun, and diamonds of course!

As Elkins highlighted, the audience for jewelry in Sotheby’s is growing to record setting levels, and 2017 has already significant sales in the Jewelry department including the sale of “The Pink Star” for $71.2M.

Elkins showcased fabulous pieces from public and private collections noting that “colored gemstones and diamonds have seen significant upward trends in the past 10 years.” As Elkins reports, blue and pink diamonds are emerging as ever-popular staples for jewel collectors, as both have seen significant growth in the measured average per carat price in recent years. After Elkins finished her presentation, guests mingled at Park House to ask questions and enjoy cocktails as the evening wound down.
