“Seattle is considered, truly, a player on the global field.”
Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty Global Real Estate Advisor Scott Wasner joined Founder and CEO of REALM Julie Faupel from Location Luxe this week. They discussed what’s ahead for the real estate market in Seattle, and what real estate trends Scott is anticipating in the coming years.
One of those that he expects is a shift of apartment renters, especially for those younger Amazon employees that migrated to Seattle and lived in luxury high-rise apartment buildings, to transition to home ownership in similarly situated condominiums.
“They become accustomed to having everything at their fingertips, whether it’s a gym in the building, a dog walking area, a car washing station, room service, or delivery. So I think we’re going to see a shift in the younger consumer wanting a full-service residential option,” explained Wasner.
Wasner has represented multiple homes at the Four Seasons, including one on the market now, and he speaks positively about the sense of community that’s arisen around this living style. “Everything is such a technology-driven environment now, so having a sense of community—I think is extremely important for all age groups, all types of people in various industries.”
